Save gas, save time, and save money by commuting to Bike MS 2012 via mass transit! There are several options for using public transportation to access Piers 92/94:

For up to date Subway information, visit http://mta.info/

New Jersey Transit:  New Jersey Transit no longer requires permits to bring bikes on buses or trains. On NJT buses, bikes are welcomed on cruiser-style busses in the under-floor compartments, and generally two to three bikes are allowed per bus.  Bikes are NOT permitted on-board the bus. On NJ Transit trains, there is limited availability for bikes on trains, and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Click here for more information on bringing your bike on New Jersey Transit.

Metro North Railroad:  Bike limits per car and permit fees will be suspended for trains traveling INTO Grand Central until 8:00 a.m. and trains leaving FROM Grand Central from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the day of Bike MS New York City. Click here for up-to-date MNR schedules and information.

LIRR:  Bike limits per train car and permit fees will be suspended for trains traveling INTO Penn Station until 8:00 a.m. and trains leaving FROM Penn Station from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the day of Bike MS New York City. Click here for up-to-date LIRR schedules and information.

Parking: There is no on-site parking available at Pier 94 for participants, volunteers, sponsors, spectators or staff. Click here for parking garages in the Pier 94 area. Please note that 12th Avenue/West Side Highway will be closed southbound between 56th and 44th Streets beginning at 5 a.m. Sunday, October 21, and some surrounding streets may be closed as well. Please plan accordingly and allow enough time to reach Pier 94.

Ride Sharing: Bike MS New York City has partnered with Zimride to help our participants coordinate trips and carpool to our Pier 92/94 Start and Finish location. Zimride lets you set up a profile and book or post a ride of your own. Click here to sign up today.

Ride Morning: All participants should arrive at 6:30 a.m. to have breakfast, take a team photo, and enjoy the start line ceremony without being rushed.

The 55/100 mile riders will begin PROMPTLY at 7:20 a.m. Rideres should line up between 46th and 50th Streets along the West Side Highway by 7:00 a.m.

The 30 mile ride will begin at 7:30 a.m. Riders should line up between 50th and 54th Streets along the West Side Highway by 7:00 a.m.

Anyone needing to pick up their bike rental is to go directly to Bike & Roll located at 43rd Street and 12th Avenue.

Anyone needing bike repair should go directly to 54th Street between 11th and 12th Avenues.  Please have your bike checked BEFORE the day of the ride; bike repair is limited and lines can be long, and if you are not in the rider line-up in time, you risk not being allowed to participate in Bike MS. Click here for a list of our Official Bike Shops.

Please note: Participants riding the 55 and 100 mile routes will NOT ride the 30 mile route circling Manhattan traffic-free. Instead, they will begin Bike MS by traveling immediately through the Holland Tunnel – one of the most exhilarating parts of Bike MS! It is very important that riders enter the correct rider chutes the morning of the ride. Please follow the signage directing you to the correct area when you arrive at the site. Breakfast will be distributed in the rider chutes.
